What is a dental implant?
Dental implants can be thought of as artificial tooth roots. Implants are small titanium posts that are inserted into the jawbone where teeth are missing. While they come in a large variety of designs all implants follow the same general principles. During a healing period, the bone attaches to the implants making new, permanent “roots”, and giving us sites to which crowns or dentures can be anchored.
